Mesotherapy in Edinburgh

What is Mesotherapy And What Does it Do?

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure involving the injection of specialised solutions into the middle layer of the skin. These solutions consist of a blend of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid. The injections aim to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, essential proteins responsible for skin elasticity and firmness. By triggering these natural processes, mesotherapy rejuvenates the skin, enhancing its texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Areas Treated

This versatile technique can address various concerns across different body parts. It’s commonly employed to target facial areas affected by wrinkles, sunspots, and dullness. Additionally, it’s effective in reducing cellulite, localised fat deposits, and stretch marks. Mesotherapy is also widely utilised to stimulate hair growth on scalp.

Benefits
Tightening and Lifting

Mesotherapy delivers a significant tightening effect on tissues, especially in areas prone to sagging.

Reduce Eczema & Pigmentation

Mesotherapy helps tackle eczema and pigmentation by delivering tailored treatments directly to the skin, supporting repair and evening out skin tones.

Deep Hydration

Mesotherapy provides intense hydration, contributing to a radiant complexion.

Reduce Wrinkles & Cellulite

Mesotherapy stimulates collagen and targets fat cells to diminish wrinkles and cellulite.

Effects

With mesotherapy, changes might start showing after the first session, but generally, it takes around 2 to 3 sessions to visibly notice the improvements. While not always permanent, these enhancements can be maintained with periodic sessions. It’s an ongoing investment for enduring results in your skin’s vitality.

Number of Sessions and Interval

To achieve optimal and sustainable results, a series of 3-4 sessions is often recommended. This series usually are spaced three weeks apart, with the exact number determined based on the treatment area and the individual’s response to the therapy.

During the Treatment

Mesotherapy sessions are relatively swift and typically performed on an outpatient basis. The procedure involves injecting the customised solution into the targeted area using very fine needles. It’s generally well-tolerated, with minimal discomfort and no need for dressing post-treatment.

Potential Side Effects & Downtime

While side effects are typically mild and temporary, they may include localised skin reactions, slight bruising, or itching at the injection sites. Following treatment, it’s advised to avoid specific medications and activities that might exacerbate any side effects. Some individuals might experience mild downtime, usually resolving within a few days.
