Aftercare

Introduction:

Aesthetic treatments have become a popular choice for those seeking to enhance their beauty and confidence. However, it’s crucial to remember that the journey doesn’t end once the treatment is complete. Proper aftercare is essential for achieving the best results and ensuring your safety. In this article, we’ve compiled all the important information you need to know about before and post-treatment care, covering a variety of aesthetic treatments provided in our clinic.

1. Fat Freezing

Before Fat Freezing Treatment:

  • Bring something to read or play with, such as your tablet or smartphone.
(Don’t worry if your battery is low; we’ll provide you with a charger!)
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Take a toilet break to avoid interruptions during the treatment.
  • Eat a small snack to prevent nausea from the treatment.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
  • Don’t drink alcohol at least 24hr before treatment

After Fat Freezing Treatment:

  • Wear loose clothes in case the treated area swells post-treatment. Swelling usually indicates good results and should subside within a few weeks.
  • Using Arnica cream may help with potential bruising.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking at least 2 liters of water per day to support your body’s natural processes for waste removal.
  • Quit or minimize alcohol and cigarettes, as they can impede the recovery process.
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle, including a low-fat, low-carbohydrate diet with the last meal not eaten later than 2 hours before sleep. Daily jogging, walks, or exercise can help speed up the removal of fat cells.
  • Full body massage is recommended to speed up dead fat cell removal
  • Avoid saunas, hot tubs, hot bath for 48hrs after treatment

2. Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Before Anti-Wrinkle Injections:

  • Minimise alcohol consumption for a minimum of 24 hours before injectable treatment. Alcohol can thin the blood, making it easier for bruising to occur.
  • Avoid certain supplements and medications before the procedure. If it is safe, do so or speak to your GP.
  • Stop all NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications) such as aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Nuprin, Bufferin, and Ibuprofen.
  • Stop all herbal supplements such as fish oil, ginkgo, and ginseng (a multi-vitamin is ok to continue).
  • Please discuss any history of allergies and current medications you are taking with your injector.
  • If you have a history of cold sores, it is important to let your provider know. There is a risk that the treatment could lead to an outbreak.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is not safe for you to undergo any cosmetic injections.

After Anti-Wrinkle Injections:

  • Avoid Alcohol for 24 Hours After Your Treatment: It’s best to steer clear of alcohol for 24 hours before and after your treatment. For optimal results, we recommend avoiding alcohol for a full week before and after your treatment. Sometimes, beauty requires a little sacrifice.
  • Keep the Treated Area Clean and Do Not Wear Makeup for at Least 24 Hours: This one’s a no-brainer, but it’s crucial to keep the injection site clean. While we advise against applying pressure or touching the area after treatment, a gentle cleanse with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth should do the trick. Avoid applying any makeup or skincare products to the treated area, as this could increase the risk of infection.
  • Stay Upright for 4 Hours Following Treatment: Make an effort to remain upright for at least 4 hours after your treatment. Avoid lying down, taking a nap, or relaxing in a horizontal position during this time to ensure the solution stays in place and works effectively.
  • Don’t Apply Any Pressure to the Area for the First 48 Hours: Please refrain from touching the treated area or applying pressure to the injection site for any reason, as this could disrupt your results. If possible, sleep on your back and avoid rubbing the treated area. Don’t massage the area unless instructed to do so by a medical professional.
  • Avoid High-Intensity Activities or Exercise for Over 24 Hours: Skip heavy or intense exercise for the initial 24 hours following your treatment to avoid interfering with your final results. If you’re an active person, some light exercise like walking is fine, but avoid breaking a sweat.
  • Avoid Hot Environments for 24 Hours Following Treatment: This means steering clear of hot summer days, spas, saunas, and hot showers. It’s a good idea to schedule your treatment on a day when you don’t have other hot activities planned so you can focus on your aftercare. It doesn’t mean you can’t go outside at all during the summer, just limit your exposure to direct sun and heat.
  • Do Not Complete Any Further Skin Treatments in the Treated Area for Up to 2 Weeks: Steer clear of additional skin treatments around the treated area for at least 2 weeks after your treatment. This includes activities like waxing, chemical peels, facials, skin needling, microdermabrasion, or any laser treatments.

3. Face Injectable Treatments: Mesotherapy, Skin Boosters: Profhilo, Jalupro, Lumi Eyes, PRP Therapy (Vampire Lifting)

Before Face Injectable Treatments

  •  Avoid Alcohol & Other Blood Thinners for at least 24hrs before treatment
  •  Avoid Aspirin, Vitamin E, anti-inflammatory drugs such as Motrin, Advil, or Aleve for at
least 5 days prior to treatment.
  • Try to limit caffeine intake in the 24 hours before your treatment.
  • If you take any prescription stimulants, do not take them on the day of treatment.
  • If you are being treated on the face, start your Medrol dose pack 3 days before
    treatment.
  • On the morning of your treatment, wash the area to be treated vigorously with
    antibacterial soap.
  • Do not use any lotions, creams, bath oils, or sprays on the areas to be treated.

 After Face Injectable Treatments

  • No makeup for at least 24 hours.
  • Wear SPF 30 or higher every day for at least two weeks.
  • Avoid sunbeds, direct heat and swimming pools for 7 days.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise for 7 days.
  • Avoid facials, dermaplaning, peels, laser treatments and other facial treatments for a minimum of 2 weeks after treatment.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and after treatment.
  • Keep the area clean and avoid touching it.

    After Lemon Bottle Treatment:

    • Avoid strenuous activities that induce sweating (like gym workouts) for at least 24 hours.
    • Refrain from hot showers/baths for the initial 24 hours.
    • Limit caffeine intake.
    • Avoid alcohol consumption for seven days.
    • Minimize heavy makeup application for the first 24 hours.
    • Swimming should be avoided for three days post-treatment.
    • Saunas and steam rooms can be safely used after 24 hours.
    • Adhere to a low-fat, low-carbohydrate diet, with your last meal consumed no later than two hours before bedtime.
